Principal’s Message

Welcome to West Creek Elementary School

Together We Learn. Together We Lead.

Hello, West Creek families!

My name is Tanner Jesso, and I am honored to serve as the principal of West Creek Elementary School. It is a privilege to join this incredible community of students, staff, families, and partners who make West Creek such a special place to learn and grow.

At West Creek, we believe that the foundation of every great school is strong relationships. One of my favorite leadership beliefs is "the who before the what." Before we focus on programs, initiatives, and outcomes, we focus on people. When students feel safe, valued, supported, and connected, they are empowered to reach their fullest potential both academically and personally.

West Creek has a long-standing tradition of excellence that our entire community is proud of. We are honored to be recognized as a Florida School of Excellence, an OCPS School of Innovation, a Grade A School, a Five Star School, and a Golden School Award recipient. These distinctions reflect the dedication of our outstanding students, exceptional teachers, supportive families, and committed community partners.

Our Wildcats consistently demonstrate outstanding achievement in reading, mathematics, and science. Among 133 traditional elementary schools in Orange County Public Schools, West Creek is proudly ranked #9 in academic achievement—and we continue to climb. This success is a testament to our shared commitment to high expectations, continuous improvement, and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

Beyond academics, West Creek is a place where students develop confidence, character, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging. Through our RCA House System, students are encouraged to lead, collaborate, support one another, and take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves. Every child has a place, a voice, and a team cheering them on.

As principal, my work is guided by three priorities:

Academic Excellence

We believe every student can learn and achieve at high levels. Our talented teachers provide engaging, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences that help students grow academically and discover their strengths.

Leadership & Character

Through our House System and school-wide culture, students learn the importance of integrity, responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and leadership. We are developing not only strong learners, but also compassionate and capable future leaders.

Belonging & Relationships

Every student deserves to feel known, valued, and connected. We strive to create a welcoming environment where students, families, and staff build meaningful relationships and work together to support student success.

Families choose West Creek because we offer the very best of both worlds: exceptional academics and a caring, student-centered culture.
