Arrival AND Dismissal

Arrival Procedures

Supervision for students begins at 8:15 am. Students who need to be dropped off before this time should sign up for the Extended Day program.

Arriving by Car:

  • Students in grades K - 5 should be dropped off at the front of the school.
  • Parents driving through the drop-off lanes or anywhere in the school parking lot should not be on cell phones. Parents need to drive slowly and should always be focused on safety. Please do not use cell phones while driving on campus.

Arriving by Bike:

  • Students approaching the school by bike need to lock their bicycles in the gated area in front of the PE pavilion. Students need to be sure to use the path and remain on the sidewalk at all times.
  • All bike riders should wear helmets and follow all safety rules and crossing guards. All bikes should have a lock and should be secured by the student upon arrival at school.

Walking to School:

  • Students need to follow all safety rules and be sure to listen to school crossing guards. Students should never attempt to cross the street by themselves. Students should walk on the main path and should not take shortcuts as they may not be safe.
  • Upon arriving on campus, all students will report to their designated spot by their classroom. Students will remain seated in the hallways with their class under the supervision of the teacher on duty. If a student needs to eat breakfast at school, they need to arrive on campus between 8:15 and 8:30 and report to the cafeteria.

The first bell rings at 8:35. At this time students begin entering the classrooms.

The tardy bell rings at 8:45. If your child arrives on campus after 8:45, they are tardy and will need to report to the office. Do not drop your child off in the car areas after this time. You will need to park your car and walk your child into the office to sign them in to school.

 Dismissal Procedures

Car Pick-up:

  • Students in grades K - 5 will be picked up in the front of the building.
  • Parents/guardians must have their car tags displayed on the dashboard when picking up their students.
  • Parents/ guardians who come to pick up students without the car tag will be asked to park, go inside the office, and show ID.

Change In Dismissal:

  • Any changes in dismissal must be made in writing and be signed by the parent.
  • An adult must be listed on a student's form in order to pick that student up from school. Parents can place pick-up information in the change of dismissal note they send to school. Adults can be added to a student's pick-up list at any time by visiting the front office.

Rainy Day Dismissal:

  • In the event of unsafe weather, students will be dismissed according to the plan filled out by the parents on the first day of school. Students will not be allowed to walk or ride their bikes home if there is lightning in the area.
  • In the event of severe weather close to the school, you will receive a Connect Orange Message from Mrs. Couret with instructions.

Please be patient during rainy day dismissals. Our main goal will always be
the safety of all the children at the school!
